Hi, great news. I like prototype and scriptaculous and it is being used a lot in Zikula CMS. An easier to use successor sound really great.
A question, how did you minify prototype and script2 in your download?

Great work as usual Thomas.
Now that Flash will not be supported in the iPhone, we will need Scripty even more!

Nice work Thomas, as per usual. If i could mention one minor drag on the library, the coupling with Prototype itself.

When i was working for HP, we were using script.aculo.us/Prototype in a couple of our highly visible internal apps, and ran into some issues caused by the way in which Prototype extends the js intrinsic objects like Arrays, etc. Some of that specifically broke our ability to iterate over associative arrays and forced us to retool some of our processes on more than a few occasions.

Please don't invade javascript native objects in this way, and decouple the binding with Prototype, and you'll gain a lot more traction in the enterprise space.

Cheers,
//Chris.D

I am interested in migrating from scriptaculous. I tried plugging in scripty2 (with the latest version of prototype) and none of my existing animations worked. Is it possible to use scriptaculous and scripty side by side?

I was also hoping scripty would solve some of my not-so-smooth FF animations. I've tried it with all plug-ins disabled on multiple computers and still no luck. Seems like it's a fairly recent thing that might be a FF issue as opposed to scriptaculous because my "save password" drop down bar is jerky too.

Thanks for working on such a great project, as well as prototypejs!
I noticed that some effects from script.aculo.us are missing in scripty2 (or am I wrong?). Hope they'll be added in future :)

Concerning the new name scripty2: I really liked "script.aculo.us" and it's kinda sad you changed it. I don't really understand why people got confused with the name script.aculo.us :)

Hey!!, ..Great news!!. Script.aculo.us is the perfect couple for Prototype in a Javascript Frameworks wedding :)

I am glad Thomas keeps working on it. Which is the roadmap??. I am using script.aculo.us in a big project I am in my little free time (my job takes me so much time huuhhh!!) and nights, and it is always good to know in what I am relying and trusting on.

By the way, I posted this great new at my blog (www.freakzion.com)

@dude

Sadly you seem to miss the point. And you do not speak for everyone. I get the feeling your one of thoose who must be "using" particular framework cause it´s so hyped atm.

But i say , let´s use whatever we like and are used to. Both frameworks have there uniqueness and strong points and weak points aswell.

When i started to look into JS frameworks it seemed a little scary at first. But Prototype got me started with AJAX and then i wanted to do some cool effects and Found Scriptaculous and that just got me going doing really nice stuff i never thought a novice like me could.

And im looking forward to see how scripty2 will evolve.

Good luck in all your projects.
